November 2025: Magic, Murals & Moths

Magic, Murals, and Moths are three of my favorite things—and I’m lucky to be working with all three right now.

MAGIC
One of my I Ching paintings has been selected for Electra Gallery’s final 2025 exhibition, Magic in Art. Inspired by André Breton’s 1957 text—published in English for the first time this year—the show explores how artists use visual language to create transformative experiences.

MURALS
After a year and a half with Harwood Art Center’s Youth Mural Program, this will be my final semester as a teaching artist. It has been challenging, rewarding, and endlessly inspiring. (See the youth murals from last year here.) I’ve also completed the design for my ninth mural (and my third for The Next Best Thing to Being There on Mountain Road), which I’ll be painting with the assistance of fellow artist Christian Gallegos. I am also working a smaller mural for Harwood’s Encompass show to be exhibited in the Spring of 2026.

MOTHS
Thanks to referrals from poet and artist Dale Harris, I’ve been illustrating several children’s books—an unexpected joy. I continue to design book covers as well, and my latest project features of a little boy’s encounter with moths. Drawing these intricate, mysterious creatures is a true pleasure.
