June 2026: Celebration!

I have so much to celebrate and be grateful for this year. I feel deep appreciation for all of you who have supported my artistic journey—especially as I returned to making art here in Albuquerque in 2007 at the age of 50, after a ten-year pause devoted to caring for my family.

On Saturday, June 13, from 5–7pm, please join me at The Next Best Thing to Being There (1315 Mountain Road NW) to celebrate the completion of The Sky of Life mural, along with the public release of the 64 Hexagrams & Haiku book and card deck.

Earlier that day, from 2–6pm, I encourage you to visit the memorial retrospective and art auction for my dear, much-missed friend Vicki Bolen at Little Bird de Papel (1222 Mountain Road NW), just across the street. Then from 5–8pm, head over to Ghostwolf Gallery in Old Town for the opening of their annual Superfunkadelic show, where one of my hexagram paintings will also be on exhibit.

On Sunday, June 14, the exhibition Banned!! Words, Books, People… at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church (Montaño Road NW) will hold its closing reception from 10 am–1 pm. If you missed the opening, this is a wonderful chance to see three of the original works on paper from my Postcards to America series.

And finally, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve secured a space for my own studio and gallery. The House of Cards Studio & Gallery is slated to open on October 3—my mother’s 95th birthday! Stay tuned, and visit the website houseofcards.gallery for more details on this exciting new chapter!
