October’s Feature at House of Cards Studio & Gallery
This October, House of Cards Studio & Gallery presents the largest exhibition to date of works on paper from the ongoing Postcards to America series.
Featured below is the newest work in the series, MINNESOTA: NoICE. For those following the project closely, this is the second postcard dedicated to Minnesota. I broke my self-imposed rule of creating only one postcard per state because the subject remains so urgent and compelling.
The work responds to the ongoing struggle for justice in Minnesota, a place with deep personal significance for me as I was born in St. Paul. Many of my relatives still live there, and some participated in the January protests despite sub-zero temperatures.
Ghostwolf Gallery’s Represent Show
Ghostwolf Gallery’s juried exhibition, Represent, opens October 16 from 5-8pm. Timed in advance of the midterm elections, the exhibition brings together artists responding to the issues shaping our communities, democracy, and shared future.
The selected work challenges assumptions, confronts injustice, documents lived experience, invites dialogue, and speaks truth to power. I’m honored to have ALABAMA: Sweat Shop from my ongoing Postcards to America series included in this important exhibition.
Art Shopping Paris
Art Boxy has chosen three works from the Postcards to America series to be included in their digital showcase at Art Shopping: Contemporary Art Market at the Carrousel du Louvre a in Paris from October 23-25. The works-on-paper chosen are NEW YORK: The Epicenter, OHIO: The Hurt of It All, and Washington DC: White-Washed City. The originals can be seen at the House of Cards Studio & Gallery.
