A ukulele is a small, four-stringed musical instrument that is a member of the lute family. It’s similar in shape to a guitar but smaller, typically having four nylon strings that are strummed with fingers or a pick. Ukuleles are often associated with Hawaiian culture, but they originated in Portugal and were later developed in Hawaii.
