September 2026: Completions & Beginnings

This year has been one of many completions and a significant beginning. On the completion side, I have finished three murals and brought the 10-year I Ching Hexagram project to fruition. In turn, these major creative efforts provided the wherewithal to realize a dream—the House of Cards Studio & Gallery!

Beginning Friday, September 4, the gallery will be open from 2–6 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I invite you to visit, see what is taking shape and share in the beginning of this new creative space. Please also save the date for our official opening celebration:

CALL TO NEW MEXICO ARTISTS

The House of Cards Studio & Gallery is focusing on artists who create original art—and design books or zines, cards, or decks—that fuse archetype, metaphor, myth, narrative, and/or poetry with daily life with a special focus on New Mexican artists.

The Gallery is to carry artist books, cards, decks of cards (tarot, oracle, playing cards), postcards and zines—to carry on consignment. Original works would also be exhibited as the gallery schedule permits.

The gallery is featuring many of the original works from Denise’s Postcards to America series.

The gallery will be featuring artist Greta Stockebrand’s brilliant and emotive exploration of color.

Backyard Plaza Mural Completed

This mural was commissioned by a private residence in Albuquerque’s Ridgecrest area for their 6×73-foot backyard wall.
